Miami Day 3… Pool, Cigars, Bubble Bath and Blade Sushi at Fountainbleau

After a super crazy fun night… we just wanted to relax… and cover up from all our sunburns.. of course J took caution and I didn’t…

Ready to beach….

After our free breakfast!!!

That’s a pulled beef  benedict…. OMG….

We also got some cigars for later…

Adult Pool

Beach

Yep I got tanner and burn-ier….

And then it was cigar time.. the “cheaper” one so we can compare

GANGSTA YO

And then I left J to the balcony and a good book and I decided to bubble bath…. not enough bubbles….

CAW CAW CAW CAW

Ok too many bubbles…

Drowning…

UHHH…

I am now dubbed the bubble/foam Queen <3

This is After I let the water out and got out of the tub…

And awesome BF cleaning up my mess hahaha

SO MUCH BUBBLES

This is for you Steve. Stellar Revival shoutout YO. Wait what… yo… way to be so famous and have a FAN OFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGE….

OK cleaned up and time for my last night in Miami… Mokai here I come….

So first we had dinner at Blade Sushi Bar/Lounge at Fountainbleau… yes yes remember I came here last year? Well we were supposed to go to Hakkasan… but decided that partying after dimsum and Cantonese food/dimsum [omg I’m so craving dim sum tho] would suck [food coma] more than sushi at Blade.

BLINDING menus. Unnecessary

Magical hot towels that grow…

Edamame

I love piping hot edamame… freshly steamed and large sexy sea salt flakes… :]

We couldn’t choose which sake to to buy so our waiter suggested we try a flight first and then choose what we liked most.

Sake Flight

The Sake we ended up choosing… delish! Oh and J called it… we liked #1..  the others were way too sweet…

Octopus Carpaccio
Sweet pepper, Tomato, Red Onion, Cucumber and Spicy Vinegar Dressing

AMAZING. I remember I loved it when I got it the first time and was asked if I was in the food industry/food critic – cuz I guess, people don’t REALLY get the things I do?!

Yellowtail with Yuzu Miso Glaze
Asian pear, Avocado, Micro greens, Yuzu Miso vinaigrette

Amazing… delish yellowtail… yuzu tang… and the sweetness of the asian pear and creaminess of the avocado… this literally MELTED in my mouth. SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO GOOD.

Salmon Sushi and Uni Sushi

You can never fuck up OG sushi. AMAZE.

Geisha Maki
Yellowtail, Ooba leaf, Orange, Asparagus wrapped in Soy paper,  Wasabi, Tobiko, Yuzu Miso Glaze

This was my roll choice. I loved it… jalapeno… light, refreshing.. definitely super fusian…. so Miami.. reminded me of Samba Sushi.

Bleau Maki
Tuna, Yellowtail, Salmon, Avocado, Scallion, Masago wrapped with Daikon, Soy Onion dressing

J’s choice. Also good. It was tasty but WAYYYYY over-doused in that dressing…. ugh.. drowning in it….

And dessert…

A gorgeous Key Lime Tart with pineapple and blackberries

The tart was creamy and also grainy from the sugar. Not sure how much of a fan I was… but it was quite delicious, super sweet…. hey we had a HUGE ASS bottle of sake to finish, we needed to keep on eating until it was gone… and while, yes, if you havent noticed we rarely do dessert, we did it and loved it.

Afterwards…. we decided we were old. We hit up the Lobby Bar… got some scotch, whiskey and champagne… brought it up to our balcony and had our other cigar and drank the night away in the beautiful weather and view. Life is perfect.

Miami Day 2 Beach, Yardbird & Nikki Beach Club

After a nice relaxing, semi-early, night in…. uhhhh…. actually okay, fine, not so “early” :] We woke up around 1030 for our FREE BREAKFAST

Dressed for the beach and ready to tan and swim after brekky… OFF WE GO…

How did we somehow get upgraded to an insane room AND get free brekky?!?!?!

One of our first plates of many….

And an omelette bar <3 UGH love

And then we were off to the beach. I swear we were the youngest/sexiest ones there. Check out my hot beach date.

My view for the whole day.

Is that a flying dino?

OH also decided to turn Mormon after finding this book in our hotel room….

HA. Just kidding. PS. This bikini is dedicated to Elliot Wronski :]

Our hotel.

Booze since 11am…

We later got ready, chilled on our balcony…..

And then headed to LUCKY STRIKE to watch the HEATS game. YAY Basketball.

J with his sexy cousin G and her fiance S [from the group Stellar Revival

Yeah, the band is pretty killer…. go to some shows in their next tour.. if it’s east coast I’ll probably be there :] Def any Boston or NYC shows :D

Live:

Ok i keep trying to put up the link to The Crazy Ones on here.. but it’s just the lyrics to Saving Grace…

Something about some punk and rock that just gets a girl going….

I’ll hopefully go help out at a few East Coast shows on their next tour so look out for me :D *grin* and also check out the drummer’s food blog — The Hungry Dummer .

We played a game of pool [worst game ever] but me and J won <3 WOOT. Nerds unite!!!!

G asked where I wanted to eat in Miami and I said YARDBIRD and her and S had JUST had brunch there… but then they decided to take us there after the game…. AWESOME.

Sadly no Chef Jeff McInnis here :[  HASH TAG #topchefcrush

Of course when I saw this I had to get it.  G and S warned that it was a lot of food but I was up to the challenge…

G ordered milk. I think I love her.

The cute soon-to-be-married-couple <3

Kale Salad for J and I

And our Chicken n Waffles n Watermelon!!!… we DEVOURED, DEMOLISHED, KILLLLLLED this <3 Hahahaha…… we’re fatties

Altho I did lose a watermelon in the feed fest. So I pour a little bit out to my homie watermelon…

My Feedback:

And then G and S kindly dropped us off at Nikki Beach Club…

Yeah the mojitos were overly sweet and sucked… I had lots of champagne and lots of douchebag Jersey Shore guys here….. probably never coming back to  Nikki Beach Club… but it was definitely an experience and fun..

Ended up going back and having fun enjoying Eden Roc late late night ;D

PS. Best line of my night to a guy “Catch me if you can, POKEMON” and I LITERALLY ran away”

PPS. I also had a guy ask me: “If I took you away tonight do you think your bf would mind?” UHHH YES. FUCKA.

Miami Day 1 & 1500° Restaurant

J and I have been planning a getaway from everything since January.. we were planning on going to Ultra in March but the prices were sky high so we decided to wait a month.  So one drunken food coma night…. as J was passing out and I was still on a drunken high…. I bought us tickets to Miami for 3 nights 4 days. Somehow we got booted up to first class. OH YES. First class bitches!

FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY. I’ve been SO excited to go back…. last year I went but wasn’t really able to enjoy much… didn’t leave the resort and had to play solo… but this timeeeeee… my partner in crime were ready to eat drink and RELAX. I think I deserve it considering my car accident, almost breaking my spine, almost slicing off my finger, 2 trips to the ER, etc all in the past 3 weeks.. yes I deserve a break… and J just works really hard and needs to REEELAX :]

On the way to LGA airport I said bye bye to my pale ass ghost legs.

BYE BYE BYE

We finally got to the airport… got REJECTED from the Admirals club cuz even though we’re first class it has to be international or we need a platinum Amex or a Black card uhhh… good thing we got there with only minutes to spare.

Yeah barely there makeup – was too excited and forgot to put much on.

Front Row, First Class Bitches…

And warm nuts <3 You’re gonna love my nuts!!!!

Altho there was a choice pre-flight online for a buffalo salad or beef wrap they only had beef wraps on this trip.  Not sure about the presentation but at least it was a pretty healthy/decent “snack” – Some Carrots and Cucumbers to dip [I actually didn’t get any dip but J got some on his] and while the beef wrap was a bit small and soggy it was pretty decently tasty.  I also hadn’t eaten anything all day… sooooo…. big factor. I WANT MORE NUTS

And while  not the underbaked cookies I remember from previous AA flights…. these were warm and crispy.. and I got it all over myself. Yep. Completely covered in crumbs and chocolate.

Beautiful….

Our gorgeous Eden Roc Hotel Resort..

Unfortunately we were like this:

Since as soon as we got in the taxi from the airport it was raining like crazyyyyy…

OH so we get to the front desk and it’s “I’m sorry our standard rooms are fully booked, we have to upgrade you for free to an Ocean View Room in our new with with a Balcony and a Hot Tub.

Ohh shucks. Life sucks :]

Our hot tub <3

So since it was raining out, we decided to hot tub it inside… with some champagne of course. OF COURSE.

And then it was time to get ready to get pretty for dinner and play.  I had already, in advance, booked us resos at 1500°.. and than later finding out it’s quite a big big deal.

1500°.. Farm to Table eating with the famous Hell’s Kitchen competitor Paula DiSilva as exec chef.

Everything local.  And our waiter was kind enough to tell us where all our food was coming from :]

Add a FRIED DUCK EGG TO MY STEAK? Sold! Obviously I have to get it……

And of course we tried the Black Garlic Truffle Butter for our steak [on the side]

We got a lovely bottle of Rioja and some chamapgne… but I found a bucket of these waters next to us hahaha for other tables

Wine art? This belongs in MOMA or the Guggenheim…

We started off with a half dozen Kumomoto Oysters [hehe J usually leaves it up to me for food while he picks out the wines]

The famous Palmetto Creek Farms Pork Belly Tacos with Homemade Kimchi

These were good but not THAT impressive. The fried wonton shells and the kimchi [totally NOT kimchi] were more chinese food than anything.. like chinese takeout-ish… but the pork belly itself was delicious and melt-in-your-mouth

Grilled Octopus on a Zucchini puree, frisse, roasted tomatoes, sheep’s milk feta and kalamata olives

This was amazing. Me and J were tearing this APART – but I gave him the olives and he gave me the tomatoes.  Refreshing and the octopus was sooo tender with just amount of chew. Perfection. SOO tender and the smokiness from the char from the grill. AMAZE BALLS.

And then our “Sides”

Swank Farms Shishito Peppers with just simple Sea Salt and Lime

This was actually a sharing plate but we used it as a side dish. I LOVE Shishito peppers… these were so tasty.  We both thought the red ones were gonn be really spicy but they weren’t.  They were lighter and sweeter.. a few green ones had some kick to them tho. YUM.

Spicy Grilled Zellwood Florida Corn with Cotija

This was my MUST HAVE side dish. I LOVE Mexican Corn and Cotija. AHHH…reminds me of summer in Chicago. This was DELICIOUS!!!!!!  Slight heat to it but only to be cooled down by the light tang of the creamy cheese. YUMMMMM

And the main dish, the star of the show

….. we split a 14oz Florida Grass Fed Wagyu Ribeye…. Medium Rare of course…. with the Black Garlic Truffle Butter on the side. And smudge of… red stuff.. hahaha. I think it’s something sweet and tomato-y.

With a fried duck egg [of course] – this they couldn’t split for us since  it’s gooey so they just gave it to us in the middle in a skillet.

Best piece of meat I’ve ever had methinks.

This is one of the most amazing pieces of steak I have ever had.  Meat even.  Tender, melt in my mouth and the perfect size.  J and I were so glad we split the steak so we could still move and play after dinner instead of just dying and food coma-ing out.

I’ve had a LOT of meat in my life and a LOT of steak, a lot of good steaks… especially ribeyes, but this was just perfection.

Afterwards we walked around the resort and headed to  the Cabana Beach Club for a drink or two…..

Than to the Lobby Bar we picked up a Mojito and a Margarita, put on the hot tub again and enjoyed our amazing view.

O

OH Miami how I love you so.

Blade Sushi Bar/Lounge at Fountainbleau

On our last day in Miami, W had an early start to a busy day so I just slept in cuz it as rainy/thundering on and off all day in Miami… woke up around 1130 and got ready to spend a day shopping and eating…

After some shopping around and fell in love with the most gorgeous Philipp Plein seude biege crystalized skull bag/tote… UGH I WANT IT… it was almost 5grand SIGH… AND these jean shoes… I finally headed over to Blade for some sushi.

I was surprised to find out that Bladen and La Vida are actually one.  La Vida is american and Blade is, well duh, sushi/Japanese but you can get both in the same place.

Sushi Bar

My view

Ready to eat

…with my Sparkling Sake Mojito

Sparkling Sake, Bacardi Superior, Fresh Mint, Hand Pressed Lime, Soda, Cane Nectar

Water a la Z with Lime & Lemon

Edamame
Steamed Soy Beans with Sea Salt

It was a huge piping hot STEAMING bowl. YUM!

Octopus Carpaccio
Sweet Pepper, Tomato, Red Onion, Cucumber, Spicy Vinegar Dressing

This was the dish that got people thinking I was in the food industry/restaurant biz hahahaha….

Green Salad
Rice Vinegar, Dressing, Carrot, Radish Sprout

This was so much more decadent than I expected.  Squash, avocado, tomatoes, carrots, amazing. SOOO GOOD.

Naruto Maki
Thin Sliced King Salmon, Crabmeat, Masago, Avocado, Scallion, Vinegar Dressing, Wrapped in Cucumber

Not that great but fresh

Salmon & Scallop Sashimi

The scallop wasn’t on the menu but I asked for some.  And I asked for them to give me thin slices of lemon with it.  Can you believe they charged me freaking 23$ for that one thinly sliced up scallop?!  It was delicious, but I’d hav appreciated more lemon in the slice lol.

Apprently this was too much food for lil ol me?! So said food neighbors… waiter also thought I was in the restaurant biz/food industry cuz I got the octopus hahaha and probably cuz I was picky about scallop.

Half way thru I finished my mojito so I got a Lychee Martini.  Grey Goose, Lychee Liqeur, Orange Bitters, Lychee Juice.  I was trying to eat super slow and enjoy myself and scenary.  Fuck the girl next to me who told her mom “OMG I wouldn’t even go into a STORE by MYSELF” go back to your salads bitches.

Delicious.  I also ended up buying W a Blade Roll / Panko crusted Toro, Pickled Ginger, Asian Pears, XO Sauce and Bleau Roll / Tuna, yellowtail, salmon, avocado, scallion, masago wrapped with daikon, soy onion dressing.  But we didn’t get a chance to try them cuz we were in a hurry to make it to the airport, boo :[ Next time, maybe… lol…

Miami Day 2, Tanning, Hot Celebrity, Relaxation to the Extreme…

Can’t post about the previous night’s dinner just yet sooo…. skipping on… [don’t worry it’s in the works.. and will be posted once i get the go-to!]

What have you been waking up to lately? I woke up to this! GORGEOUS!!!! Even more beautiful than one I came into… and not ONE drop of rain! Altho a bird did land next to me while sunbathing and I screamed bloody murder lol…

Nice and early, so I got a delicious breakfast.. hot oatmeal with blueberries, raisins, brown sugar, pot of black coffee and “half a grapefruit” – They gave me a paper as well :]

The oatmeal was creamy and still chewy.  Actually felt more like pearl barley than oatmeal. but delicious… and felt like creamy.. but no dairy or milk ;]

THIS was HALF A GRAPEFRUIT?! I think not… it was amazzzzzing!!! Cold, fresh and sweet… :]  As you can see, there’s also a sprinkling of juicy blackberries, raspberries and strawberries – JOY!  SO refreshing and delicious.

Time to venture out there!!

Got an awesome seat by the oasis pool…

And got my tan on!!! It got SOOO hot, it was high-noon, that for an hour or two I was hiding under the umbrella reading from W’s kindle :]

I had lemonade envy yesterday so I got the peach-blueberry lemonade… with vodkaaaaa :D

And a few more Phantom Mojitos, I’m in love….

I was between a few things..

First off, who eats a TUNAMELT in the burning humid weather OUTDOORS?!?!? Gross!  I wanted it all. Wings, Pita, Burger, Falafel Wrap, Pizza [I had pizza envy so many ppl ordered it]

But #1 on my cravings/list was Fish Tacos!!!!

Not what I had… but similar.. mien was grilled long chunk of Mahi-Mahi, Pickled Slaw [mostly cabbage] and a delicious Cilantro Lime Creme…. I had a tub of jalapenos on the side. YUM

I was in the pool at the time they came so I had them cold, BUT, good stories….

SO WHILE I WAS THERE, Guess who was right next to me?! I thought he looked familiar.. took twitter to find out who he was tho.. Robert Ri’Chard of Vampire Diaries.. or the one that I remembered him from.. the first guy to die on House of Wax… Paris Hilton’s BF hahahaha…

He had a garden salad with no onions and no cheese…. he was hotttt!!!!  He just wandered around the pool talking to every girl that hit on him – in fact I think  I’m the only one who didn’t hit on him or try to talk to him LOL

The funny part was he kept saying what he REALLY wanted, but ate just the plain dressing-less salad. LAME. I hate it when guys can’t eat or are on a diet.  I like a guy who can eat with me, outeat me… ;] STILL, he is pretty hot. Body be BAAAANGING..

Back to me.. HAHA being cuz of too many mojitos… Getting my sun on!!! Haven’t been this tan in AGES!!!

SO I was planning on going to Blade for Sushi or Scarpetta [yep Scott Conant’s got place here] but W got off early and so we decided to just stay in, relax and order room service.

Two Chicken/Veggie/Noodle Matzo Ball Soups, Chicken Quesadilla, Chicken Tenders and Fries. SOOOO MUCH FOOD.  We also got honey mustard and ranch on the side for the tenders.. teehee…

<3

“I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now & forever.  I promise to never forget that this is an once-in-a-lifetime love and to kno that in the deepest part of my soul that no matter what challenges might carry us apart, that we’ll always find a way back to each other”

We’re going to Miami….

Welcome to Miami…

W had a thing in Miami so I got to tag along :] What a good boyfriend. TEEHEE. Spoilt. He got me tickets so I flew in from Boston [barely got 2 hours of sleep and flew in on the 8am WOOO]… and lucky us, our planes arrived at the same time.. at opposite ends of the MIA airport. Srsly folks, do you know how freaking BIG this place is?

Map doesn’t do it justice, PLUS.. I landed at the tip of D, he landed tip of J :] HAR HAR.. I walked as fast as my little legs could carry me… we tried meeting in the middle but I ended up on 2nd floor while I told him to go on the 3rd floor.. and let’s just say it ended with W telling me to stay put in one spot while he looked for me.  WAA I felt like a lost kid hahaha

Hilariously enough, both of us got this at our Foursquare check-in [I’ve turned him into a 4sq addict! WOO] Both of us were in Miami last year in Feb.. he left right when I arrived teehee.. wonder if I passed him at the airport LOL

As I walked over to Terminal J… I saw an old friend.  Manchu Wok that is. HAHAHAHAA…. Horrible.

We finally met up and headed over to the resort we were staying at.. Fontainbleau.  Absolutely GORGEOUS!

W had to get to some meeting so we ordered a quick bite… Turkey Club [Bacon, Lettuce, Swiss, Dijon] and Fries for him and Chilled Prawn Cocktail w Tomato Horseradish Sauce for me. WTF?! So expensive.  17 bucks for only 4 pieces? But it was SOOOOO GOOOOD… felt bad getting it tho, thought I’d at LEAST get 6.

The place was PACKED and it’s a HUUUUGE area, a few pools, a few hot tubs, HUUUUGE, I wandered the whole place and finally found a spot and hogged two spaces… for when W finished up and could join me.  It was blasting grreeeeat music, latin and hip hop and just… Ammmmmmazing. LOVE IT

Burning hot so I decided to get my drink on

FirstDrink of Choice: Pink Bikini
Voli, TY KU Citrus, KU Soju, Crushed Strawberry, Lemon, Agave Nectar, Soda

Tasty but I kept getting strawberries up my straw and in my teeth – in the end it was more strawberries than drink.  Thirsty.  But I thought it was funny drinking a pink bikini wearing  a red one HAR HAR.

Phantom Mojito
Bacardi 8, Fresh Mint, Hand Pressed Lime, Cane Nectar, Perrier-Jouet Champagne

This ended up being my drink of choice for the rest of the time here :] NOM

I love my new flip flops. Valentino FTW!  Casual Chic <3 AND water proof LOL

Va-va-voom.  Of course a typical bathroom mirror shot is necessary.  See, I’m less pale now! WOO

Finally W was free and chilled with me at the pool area, the HUGE pool area for awhile, he got a Peach Blueberry Lemonade and a Watermelon Mint Lemonade – both full of fresh fruit – and I tried a Ginger Fizz [Double Cross, Canton Ginger St-Germain Elderflower, Fresh Crushed Ginger, Soda, Prosecco] YUM

Ventured to the beach side.

Time to get ready for dinner….

Gotham Steak – Fontainbleau

Welcome to the Gotham Steakhouse in Miami Beach, FL at the Fontainbleau Resort.

After the airport, pool, tanning and some booze.. it was finally time to eat.  A REAL meal mind you.. all I had that day was some coffee… a banana… a tootsie pop [on plane] and some shrimp and a few cocktails.. ok fine… I stole some of W’s fries and dug into the remaining innards of his club sammy.. but still… that’s less than what I eat for a snack usually.  Strangely enough, as much as you wear very little in Miami, I eat and drink even more there.  Maybe cuz no one else does and I get hungry for them….

They gave us some bubbly, so *clink clink* and I let W order.  He knows what I like.  I think the iPad was… wine?  Maybe? I forgot.  I was too busy drooling over the menu and staring at the group of ghetto guys looking super out of place in front of us.  Altho then again, I was probably super out of place, eating twice my weight in a skin tight leopard print dress… and being like over 6 feet tall …. WOMP

OMG BREAD.  I have a thing for bread bubbles…

I love tops!!!!

This was fluffy and warm and delicious.  The butter was creamy and salted as well.. I think it was salted.. I hope it was salted.  The best butter is always salted… unless I salted it myself.  But at least it was creamy.

OK. Rambling.

Amuse
It was a yummy little seafood bite… W gave me his since he can’t have shellfish and he wasn’t sure if there were any in it.. I THINK it was just fish… but not sure, it was delicious tho!  SCORE! Extra fattiness for me :] Me 2, W 0

First Round of food —

Grilled Double Cut Applewood Smoked Bacon
Spicy Shallot Vermont Maple Syrup Glaze

My favorite of the night.  Thick, juicy, fatty, sweet, salty. FUGGIN BOMB~!

Wood Grilled Spanish Octopus
Baby Squash, Fingerling Potatoes, Pimento Aioli

Second Round —

Heirloom Tomato Salad
Watermelon, French Feta, Basil, Noble XO

That was what the menu says but I remember Goat Cheese, Beets, Radishes….Carrot?! Haha I don’t remember but I def don’t remember basil and I really remember a light goat cheese creamyyyyyyyy

New “Wedge” Salad
Iceberg Lettuce, Blue Cheese, Apples, Shallots, Smoked Bacon, Creamy Vinaigrette

Homemade Ricotta Cavatelli
Heirloom Tomato Sauce, Basil Pesto, Parmesan

Third Round —

Sauces… I remember a horseradish, steak sauce, jalapeno, red wine… and two more… oops…

Hehe getting served the corn…

Creamed Corn
Manchego Cheese & Jalapeno

OH MY LORDY this corn was good…  I’m a sucker for corn tho…. and creammmmmyyy things.. and while I’m not HUGE on creamed corn, usually, this made me SO happy!  A little heat, a lot of cream and pop pop pop of the fresh corn.

They gave more bread. These things were soooo good.. but nothing beats a good popover. Just saying…

Skirt Steak “Churrasco” 12oz

Medium Rare.. pretty good, tender… more well done than I usually like my moo and on the salty side, but it was fun to dip in the 6 different sauces.  I think I liked the jalapeno

Cobia on yumminess.. dammit I forgot details cuz I only had a bite.

What is Cobia? It’s a fishie! The texture/flavor, and perhaps mainly cuz of how it was cooked.. reminded me of halibut.  A nice firm white fish.  Or swordfish.  The only reason why I only had A bite was because of everything we consumed beforehand.  You’d be surprised to know that I only had HALF a glass of bubbly during this dinner… haha of course I may have had a few beforehand during the day already ;] — OH but I DO remember BACON in this dish.  Yep. MORE bacon.

A little about the fishie:

Bubble Bubbleeeee

Source

Mac & Cheese
Apple Smoked Bacon
Ok I was about to pop but I had a bite of this too… I inhaled my corn but mac & cheese is pretty heavy.  This was still piping hot when I dug in… a nice crust, pasta had a nice chew and it was creamy and cheesy.. and of course BACON!  Most of this dinner involved bacon.. LOL
