Miami Day 4 & Joe’s Stone Crabs… and 72oz of Margaritas at Primetime

It’s our last day in Miami…. I don’t wanna leave…

Neither does J.

Time to say bye bye to our beloved free amazing gourmet breakfast buffet at Eden Roc

Note: See all of J’s beloved donuts. Yes he’s a donut fanatic. :]

My last free omelette and bacon

Bye Bye Bye :[

Sad Good Bye

Had the most AMAZING time with the most amazing person.

Bye bye Lobby Bar [Bartender Tommy haha J’s new friend]

SO OFF WE WENT… hiked the beach… first stop, nostalgia…. Wet Willie’s…. we got some blue shocker mixed margarita. SO sweet…. but hey I felt 18 again.

We continued our long walk on the beach… a nice long walk from Eden Roc [Miami Beach] to the end of South Beach at Joe’s Stone Crabs

Woot woot finally got to sit INSIDE. Last time I was REJECTED cuz of dress code. UH. Tube Top and skirt was a NO-NO.

AMAZING BREAD. Pretzel bread and the flatbread crips were the SHIT!!!

One again I was in charge of food and J was in charge of wines….

Delish!…. he got a Chard… I got… uhhhhhh…….. something spicier?!… I don’t remember..

Crab Nicoise
shaken with jumbo lump crab, locally grown tomatoes,
olives, green beans, eggs, potatoes, red onion & herb vinaigrette

Chock full of fresh sexy crab…. amazing crisps… and just UGH delish!.. Even the dressing was SOOOOOOOO divine!!!!….. I loved how they served this in a cup and shook it out in front of us. HOOKED.

We got the SELECT Stone Crab Claws… I’ve had the medium and I’ve had the jumbo [bigger isn’t only better] which were ok, so select was definitely the best choice.

Best last lunch in Miami.

And of course their famous Key Lime Pie.

Demolished. LOVE.

But our day wasn’t over yet. We were determined to get a GIANT margarita on Ocean Drive. So where do we end up? Primetime. Of course :] We could’ve gotten smaller ones but it was 2 for the price of one and I wanted the giant one… so we both got 32oz ones…..

J got the
Aperol Spritz
Aperol Liqueur, Astoria Prosecco and splash soda

And  I got the
Champagne Kiss:
Champagne, Chambord raspberry liqueur blended  to perfection

I was taking pics of us so the waitress offered to help…

Much better..

Bigger than my head.

Tipsy tipsy weeeeeeee… time to head to the airport to drink more….

Acadia ME: Fish House Grill – The Last Dinner

Since we didn’t really make it out much in Acadia the day before due to the excessive heat, we woke up bright and early to get a good start on the day while it was still “cool”… My parents got up super super early, got breakfast and brought back some blueberry pancakes for me from Jeannie’s Breakfast… also some eggs, home fries/potatoes and toast.. MMMMM….

SOOOO much fresh blueberries in the pancakes, they were freaking AMAZING!!

And then offfffffff to the national park again…

Sand Beach

Didi’s first time at the beach, she was freaking out at the waves.. poor thing…

I got splashed :[ The water was freeeeeezing and apparently doesn’t get above like 50 degrees or something

Thundering Hole

It was pretty calm at first and apparently it was all day but it picked up once we got there.. and it was BOOMING.. Didi freaked out and crawled onto my back LOL

I eatz your head

Bar Harbor Cellars / Winery @ Sweet Pea Farm

We bought some wine, wine tasted and also bought some snacks.. and then headed back to the hotel to chill by the pool…

White Summer Sangria

Spiced Passion Mojito

And I even hot tubbed a bit.. good thing it was in the shady area of the hotel pool area so it was actually super nice and relaxing…

And then back downtown for dinner…

Didi meat fake leopard print doggie

We decided to not eat at our original location and go by the pier to eat..

Beautiful view form our table

We decided on Fish House Grill so we could eat with a nice view and breeze.. and OMG it got SUPER breezy and chilly by the water..

The menu was HUUUUUGE… took forever to choose what to eat..

I got a half bottle of bubbly for meself :D

Clam Chowdahhhhh

Super thick, creamy, delicious – definitely needed more clams though.. I loveeeeee it when it’s chockful of clams and less potatoes :] But it was SO good…

1 lb Steamers – thankfully NOT salty

And…. what’s this hiding under garlic bread?!

1 lb Mussels in White Wine Garlic Butter Sauce

TIMEEEEEE TO EAT!!!!

OOOO and Corn Bread too, the most AMAZING corn bread. *obsessed*

Mommy’s Pan Fried Flounder

Flounder dusted with Seasoned Bread Crumbs and some dill Sauce.. served with Tropical Salsa, corn and Rice

Daddy’s Grilled Atlantic Salmon

Served with Tropical Salsa, Corn and Rice

And then me being the fatass that I am… I ordered a mega entree…

My Seafood Grill

2 lobster claws, steamers, mussels, stone crab, peel n eat shrimp, crab legs and i asked for extra corn instead of potatoes… AND added on a lobster tail

YEP. I couldn’t choose what I wanted.. so I just got it all.. OMG the shrimp was SOOO GOOD… steamed and seasoned with Butter and Old Bay Seasoning…  I ate it ALL! AND ordered dessert…

Blueberry Crisp

It was mushy and gross and overly buttery so I didn’t eat it.. hahaha…

But I did take ridiculous pictures

More homemade gelato…

1 scoop maple walnut – with WHOLE walnuts YUM; and 1 scoop banana Peanut Butter… tons of chunks of pb and reese’s :D

BED TIME!!! Didi and her new moose friend!!!

Acadia ME: Stewman’s Lobster Pound

As soon as we got to our resort I changed my outfit – 5 hour trip thru super ghetto Maine was exhausting… especially since we planned our trip during the hottest heatwave this summer.. .yikes!!!! I planned on eating ALL lobster and seafood this entire trip, so no trip to Acadia/Bar Harbor ME would be complete without heading to Stewman’s Lobster Pound.  Since we brought Didi with us on the trip we had to eat at dog-friendly places!!  There are two in Bar Harbor area, one downtown and one in the hotel we stayed at… so obviously we just, lazily, went to the one in our hotel :]

Stewman’s Lobster Pound @ Bar Harbor Regency

Raspberry Mojito

My daddy ordered wine and got it in a plastic cup as well.. teehee, ghetto fabulous!!!! It was quite delicious tho and not too sweet!! MMM I love mojitos :]

Steamers

These were SOOOOOO salty.. they were steamed/boiled IN sea water so I was dying of salt overload. As were the mussels….

Mussels

Such a shame.. I have such bad kidneys for salt overload and I bloat like crazy so I had to avoid these.. they weren’t just salty, they were like SALT LICKS!!!! Reminded me of the “spicy pickles” from the other day at Tamarind Bay LOL… My parents ended up eating them…

Stone Crabs

But my stone crabs were delicious!!! So expensive though.. it was like 3$ a piece… geez.. makes me miss Miami like SUPER crazy tho… :]  Need to take a trip there asap – got it girls?!?!?!… I spy another All Girls Trip ASAP in the near future… :]

We decided to get the biggest lobsters they had… 3.5lbs YUM

Look how excited I am, and how tired I look from all the travel.. hahaha.. and yes I wore my bib :] I remember as a kid I would NEVER for fear of looking stupid… but now, I wear my bib with pride!!!! :D

My cute little, er, HUGE lobster :D

It was a girl, which is why it was so big, and it was FILLED with roe…

I hurt myself tho eating the lobster :[ I got a HUUUUGE cut on my finger and it kept bleeeeeeding – sigh… I’m so hazardous to my own health.. hahaha.. it’s actually sort of funny..

Daddy’s HUUUUGE Lobster

My parents are so cute :D

Daddy was so excited with his huge claw

After dinner, we got some coffee and homemade blueberry pie… Lobster, Ice Cream and Blueberries are the theme of Maine trips :] Constantly.. and booze always is SO… you know ;D

It was really good…. delicious crust.. great filling, not too sweet and yummy delicious vanilla ice cream!!!

I told mommy to feed daddy and she did – OMG my parents are so freaking cute!

Even though I could barely finish my pie… there was still room, always is, for another drink… a nice boozey Blueberry Pink Lemonade – I HAD to try it since our waiter said it was the most popular….

Didi had her fill of lobster too :]

It got a little chilly after dinner so I changed into a hoodie and a long sleeve before we headed out downtown to eat ice cream and shop around…

We got there pretty late so a lot of stores were closing…. it WAS a Thursday night so it wasn’t too crazy out

Ben & Bill’s Chocolate Emporium

In the Mood for Joe’s Stone Crabs

Z and I got to Miami a bit before 11am and was able to check right into our hotel on Ocean Dr…. we unpacked and settled in… changed into warm weather clothes and tummies were a-gurgling. We already knew exactly where we were eating tho…. Stone Crabs… Joe’s Stone Crabs to be exact.

Can you believe it? I got DENIED sitting inside because I was too underdressed… who thought short shorts and a tube top would be underdressed in freaking MIAMI… and of all places, to eat STONE CRABS… time to get messy yo… it’s okay, the weather outside was FABULOUS…

Joe’s Stone Crabs
Joe’s Stone Crabs

YAY YAY YAYYYYYYY

We found a nice spot outside in the corner with an umbrella and started looking over the menu… our waiter came by with some bread….. they were all super garlicky and oniony. A bit too damp tho from the humid weather…. even the crisp bread was too chewy :T But they’re not called Joe’s BREAD, it’s STONE CRABS…

After taking out beer orders… we already knew what we wanted… so we ordered lunch immediately.

Thinking of getting the Bailout

But we wanted so much food our waiter said that ordering a la carte was more worth it…..

Baker’s 1/2 Dozen of Raw Oysters

They originally got the order wrong and brought out a Baker’s Dozen…..

They’re large and beautiful but not much flavor…. and the horseradish was grated too finely for our liking… I just smothered them in horseradish and tabasco and slurped them down. Oysters and oysters. Fresh oysters are always good – even tho bland.

Waiter TOTALLY forgot about our beer orders and came by again to ask if we wanted drinks.

Um. We ordered already.

Oops.

I got a Stella

And Z got a Presidente

MMMMM Ice Cold Beers with Raw Oysters… the Aftermath:

After another short wait and admiring our neighbor’s Conch Fritters and Coconut Shrimp [we almost got some] we finally got our sides…. It kinda irked me out that they served, ALL of it, for us.

Hashbrowns and Grilled Tomatoes

SO not what I expected. The Hashbrowns tasted like Chow Mein from a chinese takeout place.. old grease.. soooo greasy and burnt [altho I love burnt] and the Grilled Tomatoes I didn’t expect mashed broccoli and cheddar all over them.. they were good but after a bite I saw orange grease oozing everywhere and it turned me off…. I barely touched our sides.. Z helped me eat mine tho :]

Plate 1: Stone Crabs Large

That’s it?

We tore thru it sooooo fast…..

So we had a Plate 2 : Stone Crabs Select

Bigger order, and just as tasty :D Maybe even sweeter, Z claims they had more crab flavor… I just thought everything was delicious…. love love love crabs…

AND THEN, the moment that Z had been waiting for since we got to Miami/SOBE….

Key Lime Pie

The crust was delicious and crunchy… not perfectly molded and store bought [less butter?] And the goop was sooo custardy and not as jello-like as usual. Perfectly sweet and tart… adore adore adore. Now I wanna go to Key West and eat the chocolate covered Key Lime Pie on a stick <3

Joe’s is TOTALLY a go-to place when you hit up South Beach!!!
