Craft Beer Week has come and gone.. it’s been a blur of delicious beers and pairings and it’s been amazing. I’ve written about two of the biggest dinners of the week, Colicchio & Sons’ Victory Beer Dinner and the Ultimate Brewmaster’s Degustation at Mas… but now to get down with to the actual BEER drinking…. It all started with the Get Real NY event at the Altman building.

VIP’s taste very rare casks and special food and beer pairing’s.
I got us VIP tickets so we got to go there an hour early before the crowd. We also got to try a special “VIP” selection [the red casks] of beer.

We were like the 5th & 6th people in line or something… so empty.. at first.. but then it got SOOO freaking crowded..

Banchan Terroir kimchi stand

Grandaisy Bakery stand

Wish these flatbreads were warm, they were cold and a bit soggy. The fungus [mushroom] one was really good but the zucchini one was a bit off…. Wasn’t really interested in the meaty or the tomato one.

Sign up now ;D I did. In Pink.

Sour Puss Pickles stand

They were soooo freaking good, I ended up buying some pickles, okra, green beans, carrots and some other.. after all these beer events I’ve been getting really really into pickles….

Chocolate

Yummy fudgey

Pretzel Caramel – YUM

And delicious caramel corn :]

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSIC

The cheeses weren’t too stinky so I was a happy girl :] Just wish there were bigger pieces, they were tinyyy and I felt weird taking more than a piece of two.

Amazing My Friend’s Mustard mustard

In LOVE with the *dark* Spicy Brown Ale Mustard Made with Sixpoint Brownstone brown ale and a warm spice blend with a hint of brown sugar sweetness The other one was a Jalapeño IPA Mustard Made with Sixpoint Bengali Tiger IPA, pickled jalapeños, and a unique blend of spices with a kick! but it wasn’t spicy to me at all. LOVE the grains…. looking forward to finding them at Chelsea Market since they JUST started selling them outside of Brooklyn like a few days ago.

Tasty pretzels from Martin’s Pretzels

They saw me taking pictures of their stand and their pretzels so they asked to take a pic with me… haha.. usually I have to do the asking so I was caught a little off guard. They were cool guys tho.

Since there wasn’t much food to eat we ended up eating a TON of L’asso pizza and chips+salsa – but the pizza was cold :[ WAA… honestly I was surprised there wasn’t more food…. like burgers and sausage (stereotypical I know, but still…)

Yum yum yum, I think my favorite was the prosciutto ones…. and the sausage ones were really good as well…. there were also plain cheese pizzas

I was super excited to see the Brooklyn Salsa Company salsas because I just recently tried their super spicy salsa”THE HOT“, SO YUM!

I fell in love with ‘The Green‘ … sad the only thing they didn’t have was ‘The Burnt’

FUN TIMES!!!!!

I wished there was a little more food there, prevented us from drinking more i guess. I was surprised with the taste of the Phival, it was definitely something different. The vanilla bean beer was delicious, great infusion. Oh and the Landbiers were a new style to me that had the honey notes that were really tasty :). With so many choices this was the best way to start the beer week!
