Wanted: Ice Cream + Snuggles
I’m behind… I keep finding other things to do and I just got done showering after watching 88 Minutes (w/ Al Pacino) – which was really good – and some news… I’m trying to stay awake, catch up on blogs and commenting, gchat, look at fb and blog at the same time. Now that’s what i call multitasking. THANKFULLY I don’t have any extra work to catch up on tonite :] And hopefully I don’t fall asleep with the tv on again and having to have RACHEL RAY wake me up…
So for dinner tonite I was in charge of cleaning out the fridge and making a veggie dish for my parents. My mom had a lot of cleaning and errands to run after her lunch (which lasted til late) and since we had lots of meat leftovers and no veggies, I had to scavenge for some. I found some dying flat leaf parsley and a SOFT, not just moldy, SOFT AND ROTTING sweet potato stuck in the back of a fridge in a bag (thankfully!!!) My mom tried to deny it wasn’t hers, but I always buy the bright orange ones where she tends to buy the lighter ones so, Tiffie FTW ;]
First off…. the celery root I purchased… uhhh, 2 weeks ago? OOPS.

I matchsticked up half of a celery root (it was HUUUUGE, as you can see, and DANG they’re fugly), a leftover turnip which miraculously wasn’t gross yet from…. I don’t know when… a large carrot (and then I started EATING the raw carrots from the bag… haha), half of a granny smith apple, some sliced Taiwan Cabbage (no idea if there’s a difference but I got it at an Asian store & it was labeled “Taiwan Cabbage” haha)… and then TONS of garlic, ginger, a splash of rice wine vinegar, pepper, soy sauce and some sesame oil & hot pepper flakes (all to taste!!)
and VOILA!!!


OHHHH I forgot, I added about 2 tbs of PEANUT BUTTER (diluted with some hot water, mixed up and tossed in) and then – as you can see – some fresh scallions on top!!! Looks kinda bleh, but it was pretty tasty :D
My stomach’s still feeling funny so this was “my meal”

It was 1/2c Egg Whites, 1/4c Wheatberries :] And 150g of French Beans steamed….

One of my beloved bottles of crushed red pepper flakes.. I think there’s like 4 or 5 of them, AT LEAST, in the house.. hahaha
I duno why I took so many pictures of the freaking egg whites with wheatberries, now looking at them is beginning to give me goosepimples I’m getting kinda BUGGED OUT O_____O (I don’t like multiple dots placed together)

I had like 21 tentacles ….. (crap I almost wrote the t-word with the “s” in it if you know what I mean…. give me a break it’s 1 in the morning and I’m delirious ;])

Home made 糯米 (like a sweet sticky rice) with dried rambuton

& then it was movie time with some yummy wine… but first, which one to drink first?

I decided to choose the Zinfandel… and have the Malbec tmw :] Since it seemed more exotic being from Argentina and all… this Zinfandel is just from Cali ;] HAHA…

It was SOOOO good :] & STRONG!!! Actually I kinda wana sneak downstairs and get another glass now…

(HAHAHAHA I can’t get over the picture of Dior as a hot dog…. I stared at it ALL DAY at work.. she looks so helpless… hahahaha like, “pleaseeeeeeee don’t eatttt meeeee *sad eyes*” hahaha)
MAN!!! Just recapping my dinner + afterwards dessert/snacking made me HUNGRY!!!
OH I finally finished Fat Girl the other day (super disturbing at the end!!! I also realized I always fell asleep like 5 min before the end, which is the most intense part hahaha…. but I FINALLY finished it… this is like reading…) ANYWAYS, I’m currently watching Soldier’s Girl which is a true story about a soldier (Pfc. Barry Winchell) who got beaten to death cuz he fell in love with a transgendered nightclub performer. IT. IS. SOOOOO GOOD!!!! It’s a really tender, touching movie…. and, well, brutal at the end obviously but I’m not on that part yet… I’m breaking out of the horror movies and back to dramas and stuff.. I just got Big Bang Love, Juvenile A & I’m getting 11:14 (I feel like I’ve seen it before.. but I don’t remember…) in the mail tmw.. so *squeal* I’m excited, I’ll let you guys know how they are!!! OK, I might find something to nibble on and then some book and then bed :]

Your Dior is SOOOOOO cute with the hotdog outfit! Not to mention the caterpillar one too. TOO cute!
oh~~~ the celery root looks awful!!! but the rest look so yummy, specially the combo of egg, wb and red peppers, so genius idea! And of course, those Home made 糯米 look great! How I miss them!
how did you prepare it?
I love squid. Especially the tentacles. I even puit them on pizza sometimes.
Wow, the dishes you whip up are amazing! Hmmm, a girl that knows her wine. I want to learn my wines, haha, I really want to go wine tasting sometime… and actually know what I’m talking about =)
Syazana – haha there’s more there’s more :] The closer to Halloween, the more costumes I’ll show!!!
Coco – Hahaha… Celery Root is sooo ugly but it’s really good!!! The 糯米 is just simple sticky rice, lightly sweetened and stuffed with rambutans and dabbed with sesame seeds :]
Jon – YESSS!!! I prefer only tentacles!!! In fact when I buy the stuff I ask for ONLY tentacles and tend to clean them out :] HAHA…
John – Wine tasting is so much fun!!! If you want a buddy I’ll come along!!! I was always into wine but when I lived in Sydney for a month was when I really got into it. I’ve been on several wine tastings…. they’re so fun!!! Esp the ones that include a meal where they teach you foods with wines!!!! I’m naughty tho I drink it ALL up instead of dumping the rest out :D HAHAHAHA…
